Just a little piece of satire made out to the tune of Huey Lewis and the News’ “I Want a New Drug” by The Brand’s resident libertarian.

I want a new gov.
One that won’t make me sick
One that won’t want to tax my car
Or try to reach and fondle my junk

I want a new gov.
One that won’t bash my head
One that won’t make the land so dry
Or other lands blood red

One that won’t make me nervous, wondering what it’ll do.
One that makes me feel like I can sleep safe at night.
All alone at night.

I want a new gov.
One that won’t kill
One that don’t steal from us
Or stuff us with pills

I want a new gov.
One that’ll leave us alone
One that won’t watch us at night
One that won’t watch us all day

One that won’t make me nervous, wondering what it’ll do.
One that makes me feel like I can sleep safe at night.
All alone at night.

I want a new gov.
One that does what it should
One that knows how to tell what’s bad
One that knows how to tell what’s good

I want a new gov.
One I won’t doubt
One that won’t break in my house
Or force a war to break out

One that won’t make me nervous, wondering what it’ll do.
One that makes me feel like I can sleep safe at night.
All alone at night.
