When Daniel Bryan was taking the WWE by storm years ago, I was consumed with writing TNA TV at the time, so I didn’t get to experience his organic and euphoric  rise. Fortunately, years later, when I did have the time to enjoy DB’s last run, I was immediately taken by the energy that just engulfed the arena the moment he stepped out the curtain. On many occasions I witnessed Daniel Bryan single-handedly take a vanilla, boring show and turn it into a “happening”– trust me–that’s not easy for anyone to do.

It was probably a good year ago when I turned on NXT at the request of THE BRAND. Quite honestly, it just wasn’t my cup of java. If you know me, you know that I’m an entertainment guy, not a choreographed, spot-fest guy. Regardless, I couldn’t deny that bright, blinding burst of energy that lit up my television screen in the form of Enzo Amore and Big Cass. The first 2.5 seconds of their entrance these guys OOZED charisma all over the arena and everyone in it . . . and, that was even BEFORE they opened their mouths. Having worked with thousands of talents over the years, I immediately knew—these guys were superstars. That week I had a conversation with someone who worked at the WWE Training Center and I asked the simple question, “Why aren’t Enzo and Cass on TV? They would be two of the most over guys on the roster?!” The answer–Enzo was a gym rat who hadn’t paid his dues yet. Needless to say . . . I wasn’t the least bit surprised. Just typical WWE fashion. Spite yourself and your fans to make sure the two, talented young guys—know their roles and place in the pecking order.

But, as I once told the great Eric Young—you can’t keep good talent down. Somehow, someway they will rise to the top such in the case of the fellas from the neighborhood. Enzo and Cass are just what the WWE need–right here—right now. The hope is that unlike many of the NXT talents who came before them—these guys are allowed to run and are organically allowed to just let their personalities get over. If they are allowed to do that . . . the WWE will have “created” two new stars—something that they haven’t accomplished in the last two-plus years since I’ve been once again watching . . . even though . . . YOU CAN’T TEACH THAT!

  1. Totally agree with this Vince.

I’m not an NXT guy due to, as previously stated, the annoying crowd but when I first saw Enzo he was amazing! He is someone that you just can’t take your eyes off…he is a larger than life character!

With Big Cass backing him up you can see that this team is “money”. I just hope that WWE use them right!

As you said, there energy is amazing and without Bryan on the show, it is exactly what WWE needs right now.

3 hour RAWs are a chore so these guys are a breath of fresh air!

    Take care,

  2. Would love to see these guys on the Swerve as I’m sure you would too. I haven’t marked out for a new talent on Raw in years.

These guys can make a major impact on the energy of the show and become mainstays for years. So far, I think they’ve knocked it out of the park and if you don’t agree, then I’m sorry but there’s only ONE WORD to describe you…
